AFFORDABLE HOUSING FOR SENIORS AND LOW-INCOME FAMILIES
I am interested in providing more rent-protected senior housing. I would like to use monies being allocated from the state level to actually build a tiny home community for transitional housing combined with low income, more permanent housing. I would like to suspend the tax collection activities on all dwellings owned by seniors who experiencing hardship and are at risk of losing their home.
ESTABLISH A SHELTER FOR THE RESIDENTIALLY CHALLENGED POPULATION
Homelessness continues to rise as the cost of living increases. A struggle to make ends meet impacts the emotional, mental, and physical health and well-being of the people in our community. Initiatives to mitigate homelessness from the local, state and federal levels must be supported. I intend to collaborate with local emergency housing shelters, transitional housing and low-income housing providers to maximize the reach of our community's housing resources.
BUILD A REGIONALLY LOCATED, FULLY STAFFED MEDICAL FACILITY
A long-range goal is to actually establish a fully staffed hospital with a 24 hour emergency room and helicopter for trauma victims. This will bring more jobs to the region and will increase access to adequate emergency medical care.
ENHANCE LOCAL CONVENIENCES/ DEVELOPING OUR SMALL TOWNS
Enhance local conveniences by building more gas/EV charging stations, a small motel in Ahwahnee and Raymond Proper(s), expanding the post office to Raymond, construct bus stops and place benches along the downtown area(s). Envision a ‘Park n Ride’ rest stop for a long commute back home and/or tourist visiting Yosemite.
LOCAL ENTERTAINMENT VENUES
Imagine a fun-filled day or evening with local attractions and points of interest for all ages. I would like to collaborate with local nonprofits to develop hiking trails and horseback riding stables. Community attractions could include stocked fishing ponds and a locally owned brewery, or a local family themed restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner 24 Hours a day. There is a lot of local talent, why not connect with a venue to cultivate a variety of entertainment and leisure activities.
RESTORE AND BUILD UPON THE LOCAL ECONOMY BY CONNECTING RAYMOND, AHWAHNEE AND NORTH FORK TO OAKHURST
Oakhurst can be a destination for international tourist who pass through annually to experience Yosemite.
